Elements Eight aims to debunk 'quality rum myth' with latest edition

Independent craft rum brand Elements Eight is hoping to tap the increasing thirst for rum with a new addition to its premium portfolio.

Available now, Elements Eight Republica is a 40% abv aged blend of two single rums, sourced from distilleries in Cuba and Panama (rsp: £25 - £27).

The spirit, which is non-chill filtered and aged for a minimum of five years in Bourbon casks, is described as having a naturally sweet character.

Produced from 100% traditional column stills, Republica would debunk the myth that only “quality” rums could be made by blending pot and column distillations, said founder Carl Stephenson, adding the NPD was indicative of the brand’s aim to continually evolve and deliver unique rums with “outstanding quality and integrity”.

“Elements Eight is a framework, a step by step process to apply a handcrafted, balanced approach to creating rums with artisan producers. I hold product integrity dear and consult heavily on the liquid with distilleries, bartenders and rum writers,” said Stephenson.

The rum marks the fourth launch for Elements Eight, founded 10 years ago, which comprises Vendôme, Platinum and Exotic Spices.
