Australian winemaker Calabria Family Wines has appointed an export manager to grow its presence in the European market.

Bringing 15 years of experience in the wine industry, Michael Fischer has been taken on as the winemaker’s export manager EMEA with immediate effect, reporting directly to head of sales & marketing, Andrew Calabria.

Based in Germany, Fischer will be in charge of managing the development and execution of key strategic projects in order to build sales volume across existing sales regions and emerging markets, with a focus on developing and increasing the growing European market, said Calabria Family Wines.

As a graduate of International Wine Business & Economics, combined with his industry experienced, Fischer would make an “invaluable contribution” to the success of the business, said Calabria, adding he would place Calabria on the map in the European markets and solidify relationships with existing business partners.

Fischer said: “I’m really energized by the potential Calabria Family Wines is providing as a historic and pioneering family-owned winery that remains innovative producing the full range from entry to exclusive premium wines.”

Calabria sells its wines in 40 different countries around the world.
